While refilling an anhydrous ammonia tank, Bobby Taggart was severely injured in an explosion due to a severed supply line to the tank. At the time of the accident another farmer was refilling his nurse tank. CTL did not use chock blocks to prevent the truck from rolling or breakaway couplings which monitor pressure inside bulk tanks and prevent major leakage in the case of a severed line as regulated by OSHA standards.
