|Injuries||torn rotator cuff|
The Law Offices of Stephen R. Bough successfully obtained a settlement for Lynn C. Seegmiller after his freightliner truck collided with horses that had escaped and wondered onto a county road.
On June 15, 2010, around 4:00 a.m. Lynn Seegmiller was carrying grain in his freightliner truck westbound on U.S. 136 in Putnam County. Two horses owned by Richard Cullum had gotten loose and ran onto the highway in front of Mr. Seegmiller. Because it was still dark, Mr. Seegmiller did not see the horses and struck one of them with the driver’s side of his truck. Mr. Seegmiller was forced into a ditch and the truck tipped over onto its passenger side. The accident caused Mr. Seegmiller to suffer a torn rotator cuff and other injuries.
Reports indicated that the horses had gotten out before the June 15th accident. Seegmiller filed suit against Richard Cullum, who also owned the land where the horses were kept.
Cullum’s insurance policy only provided for personal injury limits of $100,000.00 per person. Seegmiller filed suit against Cullum and was able to obtain a settlement in the amount of $98,000.00, including $30,000.00 for future medical expenses.
