M. Blake Heath grew up in the small town of East Prairie, Missouri and attended Westminster College for his undergraduate degree. Blake received his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he graduated cum laude.
During law school Blake served as a Notes & Comment Editor for the UMKC Law Review. He was also on the Executive Board for the Ellison Moot Court Competition, and was a legal intern for the Honorable Duane Benton on the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Blake started his career with the Law Offices of Stephen R. Bough as a law clerk and became an associate after being sworn into the Missouri Bar.
Blake completed the Ross T. Roberts Inn of Court Program in 2010, and has been involved with the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Associations Public Service Committee. He also helps organize the Pat Kelly Memorial Scholarship Poker Tournament held at the UMKC School of Law each year.
In addition to his work with the Law Offices of Stephen R. Bough, Blake serves as an Election Commissioner for the Kansas City Board of Elections. Blake was appointed to the post by Governor Jay Nixon in 2010.
